The plight of the James Clemens, Jr. House at 1849 Cass Avenue in St. Louis Place continues to alarm the preservation community.  Despite promises from owner McEagle Properties that rehabilitation is on the way, the house and its chapel wing continue to deteriorate and suffer damage.   To highlight the precarious condition, Landmarks Association of St. Louis has retained the antebellum mansion and its later convent additions on our 2009 Most Endangered Places list.

Landmarks' Assistant Director Michael Allen spoke with KWMU reporter Maria Altman about the current condition for a story that aired today.  That story and a photo gallery are available online here
