 Landmarks Preservation Month Events

Preservation Month began as National Preservation Week in 1973 and was expanded to the entire month of May in 2005. It celebrates the diverse and unique heritage of our country's cities and states. We're here to celebrate St. Louis' architectural heritage. At the end of the month, we honor those putting in the work to save our buildings. Join us on May 23rd at the 2024 Most Enhanced Awards.

Franz Arzt House Tour

Join us for a follow-up tour of the charming Second Empire home built by Dr. Franz Arzt. The Arzt home has undergone extensive rehabilitation starting in 2015. Our last visit was in 2017. Come see the painstaking work of restoring all the details.

Bellefontaine Cemetery Trolley Tour

Cost:                    $10 members, $15 non-members

Reservations Required

Take a 2-hour trolley tour through the beautiful park-like cemetery highlighting the grounds and some of the art and architecture throughout. The trolley has AC and is wheelchair accessible. (please let us know if wheelchair access is needed for boarding)

Dad’s Cookies Tour

Dad’s Cookies has operated in Missouri since the late 1920s and has been in this building since 1938. Enjoy some cookies while learning more about how they are made. Tours are 45-minute tours running on the ½ hour.

Please join us as we celebrate the amazing work that our fellow St. Louisans have accomplished over the past 12 months in bringing our beautiful historic architecture back to life! Enjoy a catered reception and drinks (5:30-6:30) followed by the award ceremony at the Dogwood in the Grove, a 2023 Most Enhanced Winner.

Cost:    $30 members / $40 non-members.

 With assistance from the Regional Arts Commission, all lectures are FREE. Lectures are on Wednesdays, but times vary between midday and evening. Space is limited; Each lecture requires its own reservation.
