Guest Speaker Service
|
For a fee, the professional staff of Landmarks Association is able to provide presentations on St. Louis architectural history and historic preservation. From broad overviews of historic architecture to topical discussions, our staff has regularly appeared before continuing education groups, civic organization meetings, classrooms and even groups of elected officials.
Recent topics that we have presented include the following:
- "Historic Building Materials: An Overview"
- "Historic Downtown Buildings"
- "Landmarks' Most Enhanced and Most Endangered Lists"
- "Making Parks in the Central City: the Challenge of the Last 100 Years"
Staff has presented to the Friends of Tower Grove Park, Webster Groves Rotary Club, the St. Louis Board of Aldermen, OASIS and the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial Rangers. Additionally, we have presented detailed lectures on single buildings or neighborhoods that are the subject of our current research.
Our presentations can be tailored for length and level of background knowledge. Typically we bring compelling images and always provide time for questions. Contact Michael Allen at or 314-421-6474 to discuss the cost of having a Landmarks staff member reach out to your group.
